Neurobiblistics offers two immersive intensive courses for students, scholars, clergy, educators, and intellectually curious professionals seeking a serious engagement with the rapidly changing relationship between artificial intelligence and religion. Synthetic Levites: Generative AI and the Redistribution of Religious Authority explores how AI is transforming scriptural interpretation, spiritual guidance, religious education, pastoral practice, ritual, and the very structures through which religious authority is created, trusted, and contested. Its companion course, Who Is Forming Whom? AI, Religion, and Human Flourishing, turns the question toward the human person, examining how intelligent technologies shape identity, attention, desire, agency, moral reasoning, relationships, care, mortality, and our competing visions of the good life. Together, the courses move beyond simplistic debates about whether AI is “good” or “bad,” combining religious studies, theology, ethics, digital culture, and hands-on analysis of contemporary AI systems to ask a deeper question: as we build technologies capable of interpreting, advising, remembering, persuading, and accompanying us, what kinds of humans, and what kinds of religious communities, are we becoming?

Course Format & Enrollment

Both Neurobiblistics courses are offered as live, cohort-based online intensives combining seminar discussion, guided reading, AI laboratories, case studies, and collaborative workshops. Each intensive consists of 15 live sessions over three weeks, meeting Monday through Friday for approximately three hours per day, for a total of 45 instructional hours. Cohorts are intentionally kept small—ideally 15–25 participants—to preserve meaningful discussion, individual participation, and direct engagement with the instructor.

Participants receive the complete digital course syllabus, assigned readings and resources, access to live sessions, practical laboratory exercises, and course materials developed specifically for the intensive. Participants who complete the program receive a Neurobiblistics Certificate of Completion documenting 45 hours of advanced study in artificial intelligence and religion. The program is professional and continuing education rather than university academic credit unless offered in partnership with an accredited institution.
