To speak about St. Mardarije of Libertyville on the Pentecost means to speak about realization of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost teaches us to be full of life and to let the Source of Life, the Holy Spirit work in our hearts until we attain the fulness in the communion with God, in the Church. The fulness of life is in the internalization of the Holy Spirit. This is possible when we are sensitive to the truth that we are spiritual beings, beings with souls.
St. Mardarije reminds us to live for the sake of the soul. Focus on Christ and focusing on being present in the presence of God shifts our attention to living for the sake of Eternity, for the sake of our soul, and our thirst for God. Being present is only possible by re-enacting the truth of the Gospel. So,
St. Mardarije calls us to act, he urges us to Act out the unfailing Love, sacrificial love which offers a complete and real transformation of someone’s life. Also, St. Mardarije wants us to prolong the feasts, and bring the qualities of eternity, of the kingdom of God into this world.
