Contemplation on Psalm 13

God wants us to be in communion with Him. When we are not in Communion, our life does not make sense anymore. Then, God conceals Himself from us and we sense His hiddenness greatly.

Psalm 13 teaches us how to deal with the experience of God’s hiddenness when it seems that God is absent. This song is wrestling with the hiddenness of God. Realization of this distressing reality: when our Creator hides from us. God’s presence and his absence are integral parts of the forging of Christian character.

Psycho-physical renewal is possible in communion with God. Ps. 13 encourages us to break free from depression and ask God to restore our relationship. Trust in God’s sacrificial and unfailing love is crucial.
