Contemplation on Psalms
Psalms are a great remedy for someone who is pondering the past and has depression, as well as for those who are anxious about the unfolding of the future event. Psalms can provide strength and concrete steps out of depression and anxiety.
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!” (Ps 27:1, 14).
God is our light and strength. The fearful heart is good soil for spiritual weaknesses, but if we take courage in the Lord, the fears are overcome.
